HazmApp

Hazardous materials lookup for iPhone and iPad. Coming soon to the App Store.

HazmApp puts the Hazardous Materials Table and the Emergency Response Guidebook in your pocket, laid out for quick reading on a ramp or in a cockpit. Everything is stored on your device, so it works at remote airports with no signal.

What it does

Requires iOS or iPadOS 17 or later.

Questions

Does HazmApp work without a connection?

Yes. The hazmat table, special provisions, Part 173, and the ERG are built into the app. Only the links to online regulation text need a connection.

How current is the regulation data?

Settings > Databases shows the date each source was taken from the electronic Code of Federal Regulations. The data is refreshed with app updates, so keep HazmApp up to date. Always confirm critical information against the current official text.

Can I add my company's manual?

Yes. In References, tap Import PDF and pick the file from Files. The copy is stored in the app and works offline. Swipe right on a document to rename it, left to delete it.

Does HazmApp collect my data?

No. There are no accounts, no tracking, and no analytics. Your contacts and documents stay on your device. See the privacy policy.

Why does a limit say "Not listed"?

Some table entries have no quantity in Column 9A or 9B, such as many Class 7 materials. HazmApp shows these as "Not listed" rather than suggesting there's no limit. Check the regulation for that material.

I found a mistake in the data.

Please email us the UN number and what looks wrong. If it's an error in our conversion, we'll fix it in the next update.

Reference aid only. HazmApp is not official DOT, PHMSA, or FAA guidance and is not endorsed by any government agency. 49 CFR, the ERG, the shipping papers, and your operator's procedures govern. In an emergency, call 911.
